29 hours. 20 min.

My dad and I recently made the 29 hour  20 min. 1,939 mile drive from good ol' dub V to Provolone...for the second time. Except this time,  we brought out my dream car- a silver  , FORD ESCAPE. Yes, my dream car is not a BMW or Mercedes, but a Ford. I am in love with this vehicle. The road trip took us 3 days. We had plenty of time to bond. If you ever have to take a trip this long, here are some suggestions of things we found entertaining.

1. Get an ipad: I hated these babies with a passion. I felt like they were so awkward. However, My dad's work hooked him up with one before the trip. We streamed Netflix and the internets all the way across the country. Pure bliss. Thank you Steve Jobs.
2. Learn the lyrics to a song you have never really known the lyrics too: I.e. Back in Black by AC/DC. We rocked out to AC/DC-voice impersonations included. Now, I am proud to say we know all the lyrics.

3. Practice your voice impersonations. Our favorite was Sean Connery. Many things we spoke about with did with a Sean Connery accent. It made for an entertaining trip.

4. Try to sing all the songs from a musical movie. Our personal choice was The Sound of Music. Yes, my dad and I do know all the songs.
5. Ponder life. Sometimes there are long silences in the car. That is when you ponder life and how you are going to change the world. The typical ones: world peace, racism, terrorism, etc. Really, it's inspiring.
6.  Count the things you are thankful for. Be thankful you are not the pioneers. This trip was long enough in a car. I have gained plenty of respect for the pioneer folk before us.
7. Cry over the gas prices.
8. Eat Dairy queen. Every day. This give you something to always look forward to. The new mini blizzards are divine.
9. Sleep. Uh, hello. Never gets old.
10. Talk to the Tom-Tom. Sometimes Debbie, our tom tom, would get out of hand with her demanding directions. My father claimed she was a typical woman. We learned to yell back at her.
11.Site see. Make the most of your trip. We truly live in a beautiful place...once you get past all the corn.
